Today is a Gift

As I sit here this gray morning by the fireplace in The Gathering Room of the Inn, looking out over the beautiful Welsh Hills countryside through a wall of glass, I'm reminded of Eleanor Roosevelt's quote, "Yesterday is history.  Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift."  Even as the starkness of winter's hold begins to give way to the rebirth of the spring landscape, the beauty of this area is apparent everywhere.  Horses gallop together in sync in the neighboring pasture and our new arrivals, fourteen one-week old Indian Runner & Rouen ducklings, seem to be doubling in size every day or two.  Our seven resident Pekin ducks are loving the extra swimming space in the pond as the ice and snow melts away.  Although the grass is still browned from the winter's chill, the little, but highly anticipated, signs of spring are beginning to show themselves a bit more every day.  Today truly is a gift.
